A Quarter Of A Million Miles

I wrote some pieces for orchestra and voice inspired by Michael Collins’ “Carrying The Fire”. Collins was the Command Module pilot on the Apollo 11 mission. He orbited the moon on his own while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface. It is a brilliant and poetic book and highly recommended. Three of the pieces I wrote were set to films, some featuring footage from the International Space Station and one with archive Apollo footage. You can see the 3 films below.
